When to contact us
- Knocking or clunking over bumps
- Uneven tyre wear or a vehicle that feels unsettled
- Excessive bouncing or a change in ride height
- A suspected worn ball joint, bush or broken spring
How we assess the problem
Tell us when the noise happens and whether it changes with steering, braking or road surface. We check the relevant joints, bushes, springs, dampers and mounting points, and explain the findings rather than replacing parts based only on the sound.
What the work may involve
Depending on the findings, work may involve ball joints, wishbones or control arms, suspension bushes, anti-roll-bar links, springs, shock absorbers or strut mounts. We also discuss whether alignment or other follow-up checks are appropriate for the repair.
If a wheel feels unstable, the vehicle is difficult to control or you suspect a broken suspension component, contact us before driving further so we can discuss the safest way to have it assessed.
Can you quote for a ball joint replacement?
Send the registration and any diagnosis you already have. We can discuss the likely next step, but the fitting arrangement and condition of nearby components may need an inspection before the final scope is agreed.

Suspension Repairs
Knocks, uneven tyre wear, poor handling and an unstable ride can have several causes. We inspect the suspension and steering components, reproduce the symptom where safe and explain the evidence.

Why correct diagnosis and procedure matter
Suspension parts work as a system. A knock can come from a drop link, bush, ball joint, top mount, spring, damper or another loaded joint, while tyre or wheel-bearing faults can feel similar. Testing the vehicle in the correct position helps avoid replacing the wrong component.
We assess shock absorbers, springs, top mounts, wishbones, ball joints, bushes, anti-roll bars, drop links and related steering or wheel-bearing evidence.
We confirm the symptoms and relevant test results so the quote reflects the vehicle rather than a generic parts list.
We explain what is included and agree any change in scope before additional work is carried out.
Symptoms and situations we investigate
- Knocking, clunking or creaking over bumps
- Uneven tyre wear or a vehicle that pulls or wanders
- Excessive bouncing, poor stability or body movement
- A broken spring, leaking damper or play found during inspection
A broken spring, loose joint or severe play can affect steering, braking and tyre contact. If the vehicle feels unstable or a component is displaced, stop driving and ask about recovery.
What the work can include
- Confirm the symptoms with a safe road test where appropriate
- Inspect loaded joints, bushes, springs, dampers and mountings
- Replace the agreed components using vehicle-specific procedures
- Torque at the correct ride position and advise when alignment is required
Time, pricing and warranty
Straightforward links or joints may be completed quickly; seized fixings, pressed bushes, struts and multi-link systems need longer. We confirm timing after identifying the failed part.
Pricing is based on the exact axle, component, access, parts choice and whether alignment or related hardware is needed. We agree the scope before work starts.
Repairs are covered for 12 months or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first. An optional three-year warranty is available; terms and conditions apply.
