4×4, Transfer Box & Differential Repairs
Noise, vibration and drivetrain warnings on a 4×4 need structured diagnosis. We separate transfer-box, differential, propshaft, wheel-bearing and electronic-control symptoms before recommending work.

Why correct diagnosis and procedure matter
Four-wheel-drive systems distribute torque through several mechanical and electronic components. Similar noises can travel through the body, so road testing, lift inspection, fluid checks and diagnostic data are combined.
We assess serviceable 4×4, transfer-box and differential faults across a range of cars and SUVs, subject to vehicle and component identification.
We confirm the symptoms and relevant test results so the quote reflects the vehicle rather than a generic parts list.
We explain what is included and agree any change in scope before additional work is carried out.
Symptoms and situations we investigate
- Whine, rumble, vibration or clunk under load
- Four-wheel-drive or drivetrain warning messages
- Fluid leaks from a transfer box or differential
- Binding, judder or tyre-scrub sensations during turns
Ignoring low fluid, bearing noise or binding can damage gears, casings and connected driveline parts. Mismatched tyres can also stress some systems.
What the work can include
- Record when the symptom occurs and inspect tyres and driveline
- Scan relevant modules and test mechanical play or bearings
- Check fluid condition and leakage where serviceable
- Explain repair, replacement or specialist-component options before work
Time, pricing and warranty
Diagnosis is staged because the source of transmitted noise must be proven. Repair time depends on the identified unit and parts route.
Initial testing is quoted separately from component work. The repair price follows the evidence and agreed unit scope.
Repairs are covered for 12 months or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first. An optional three-year warranty is available; terms and conditions apply.
